Neymar has a 'good chance' to re-joining Barcelona this summer
Strap yourselves in people, because this saga is only just beginning.
Two years after he dramatically left Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar has a ‘good chance’ to re-signing for the club this summer.
That’s according to Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler – the man who broke the news of Neymar’s switch to PSG back in 2017.
Bechler is close to the Neymar camp and has revealed overnight that the chances of the forward going back to Camp Nou have increased dramatically over the past couple of weeks.
Neymar has apparently told his people that he does not want to stay in Paris beyond the summer and is desperate to go back to the Catalan capital.
Barcelona are now in talks with PSG over a potential deal, and are hoping that a cash plus Ousmane Dembélé offer will sway them.
One sticking point however is the payment of a €30m bonus that Neymar believes he is owed by Barcelona.
Just before leaving the club, Neymar agreed to sign a contract extension that would take his release clause to over €220m.
In return, he wanted an extra €30m for agreeing to said clause.
The South American hitman signed that contract, with the clause included, but just a month later left Camp Nou to join the Ligue 1 giants after they smashed the world record to bring him to France.
Neymar and his old side are still in legal dispute over the non-payment of the €30m, and now Barça are saying that if he really wants to come back to the club, then he has to agree to cede that mammoth payment.
This one is going to rumble on and on.
